McCoist in jubilant mood as he realises it’s only ten minutes until the pubs open

Britains high street bookmakers are refusing to take any more bets on whether Scottish soccer pundit and ex-Glasgow Rangers icon, Ali McCoist, will appear to be under the influence of alcohol when he appears as a guest pundit during ITV’s coverage of tonight’s World Cup qualifier clash between England and Scotland at Wembley.

A spokesman for William Hill bookmakers said last night: “We’ve closed the book on this one following unusual betting patterns.

“We’ve had instances of punters placing huge sums on the probability of McCoist looking absolutely shit-faced during the game, despite our shortening of the odds to 100/1 on.

“However, our customers will still be able to place bets on what particular shade of red his nose will be and how long it will be before Glen Hoddle says: “England are looking nice and bright early doors”
