You’re right…there is some absolute effluent out there. I have a very low boredom threshold so if a post is written in tiny writing, and goes beyond three screens of my phone it’s got no chance. Obviously I’m not including my own blog in this…some of my posts (which are hilariously good I’ll have you know) go beyond three screens, but I’m middle-aged and need glasses so the text is HUGE!!

That made me do one of those LOLs…and I NEVER do those LOLs!!!!
It’s an inescapable fact that if Steinbeck were to serialise, East of Eden on here and failed to do the requisite ‘crawlarsing’ his masterpiece would have remained unloved and unread.
There are one or two who seem to think that by vomiting the contents of Roget’s Thesaurus onto their page it will suffice to convince people of their literary stature.
This whole ‘WordPress Family’ thing is a risible bunch of arse in my view.
I knew a bloke who wrote ‘GREAT POST’ on 100s of blogs per day, irrespective of their merit. He quickly accumulated 1000s of loyal followers to whom he flogged his self-published book (which wasn’t bad btw). He then quit WordPress and was never seen again 😀
He was a good lad and afterwards confided in me that he’d never seen a single piece of any worth or merit whatsoever and gave up reading after a week. (My stuff excluded of course! HRRRRRUMPH!)
That just about sums it up really, Midders 😀
